Houses in Alexandra Road
This very neat terrace of houses in Alexandra Road (off
Penn Road) is included because of its string course of white glazed
brick. These seem to be the only surviving examples in
Wolverhampton, though there is another in Bilston. Higher up this
terrace part of the string course becomes blue brick and then, right at
the top, it is all blue brick. Very odd. Perhaps they just
ran out.
Alexandra Road contains a pretty good selection of amazing
buildings, especially at the top.
