CIVIC TRUST AWARDS IN WOLVERHAMPTON

Hockey Club House, Pendeford Lane

The Wombourne Hockey Club club house, for which Roger Evans was the architect and Amies Bros. the contractors, got a commendation in 1966.

I have not yet got access to the site.  When I do I might be able to get a photo which better shows whatever its merits are supposed to be - and to find out why Wombourne Hockey Club, has its premises well to the north of Wolverhampton, when Wombourne is way to the south.  Fo rthe moment I can only say that this valuable piece of architecture seems to be in need of a lick of paint and its surrounding improved.
