The Baddeley Family of Wolverhampton

by Carol Wheeler

I haven't been researching my family tree for very long and I was wondering if anyone could help me with more information about my Wolverhampton forebears.

My 3xgreat grandfather was Thomas Baddeley born in 1827 in Wolverhampton.

I think his parents may have been Edward and Elizabeth Baddely, but I am not sure on that.

Anyway Thomas was a shoe maker who was married to Jane and they lived at 24 Chapel Street. They had one known son, Isaiah Baddeley, my great great grandfather, born 1864; but on the 1881 census Thomas's grandson, John T. Stone, is shown, so there must have been other children somewhere.

Isaiah moved from Wolverhampton and lived in Panteg, South Wales, where he married Anna Maria Wood but he died in 1902, aged just 39. He did however have two sons - John Baddeley, my great grandfather, and Isaiah. John married Elizabeth Hodson and their children were Isaiah Baddeley, my grandfather, born 1917, Mariah, Florence, Muriel and Ann from Elizabeth's first marriage.

If you have any information about my family, I would be very glad to hear from you. Please email me at: carol@wheeler64.freeserve.co.uk
