A very special event is taking place on Sunday 25th July, 2010 at the Black Country Living Museum.

The Festival of Black Country Vehicles celebrates the once vast vehicle manufacturing industry of the Black Country.

Over 100 Black Country made vehicles will be seen on the site, including many well known makes.

There will be cars, motorcycles, lorries, and buses, made by manufacturers such as A.J.S., Bean, Clyno, D.M.W., Guy Motors, Jensen, Star, Sunbeam, and Turner.

The owners of the vehicles will have the opportunity to take part in a unique series of cavalcades, during which the vehicles will 'drive into the past' around the museum's 26 acre site.

This spectacle allows visitors to re-live our Black Country motoring past.

This year we are celebrating the centenary of A.J.S., the Black Country's largest motorcycle manufacturer.

The company also produced cars, and we are expecting the largest gathering, for many years, of A.J.S. cars in the world.

Other motoring attractions include the museum's large collection of Black Country made cars, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles, that are on display in two garages - the Black Country Company Garage, and Conway Garage.

The whole family can also enjoy the many attractions at the museum including the Black Country village and shops, the traditional fairground, the coal mine, the schoolroom, the many canalside and industrial exhibits, the replica Newcomen engine, the exhibition rooms, and the Cradley Heath Worker's Institute. There is always much to see and do.

Excellent food is available at Hobbs and Sons Fish and Chip Shop, and the Canalside Cafe, which can be washed down with a pint of real ale in the Bottle and Glass Inn.

There will also be an indoor display about Black Country made vehicles.

Music will be provided by Dennis Mowatt's Dixie Syncopators, setting the vintage scene with their dixieland jazz.

If you have a Black Country made vehicle, and would like to enter the rally, please print, fill-in, and return the entry form:

Please book early.
