The Event will Commemorate 100 years of Sunbeam Motorcycles

Entries are invited from the owners of Black Country made Cars, Commercial Vehicles, Motor Cycles and Motor Scooters to a Rally, to be held at the Black Country Living Museum, Tipton Road Dudley, West Midlands, on Sunday 29th July 2012. For the purpose of this event Black Country made vehicles are defined as those mentioned in the book, (Powered Vehicles made in the Black Country), by the late Jim Boulton.

 All entries will be vetted. Club Entries of non Black Country made Vehicles will be accepted by special arrangement and at the discretion of the Organiser. These vehicles must be registered before 1940.

 Neither will entries be accepted for non Black Country made, which are powered by Villiers engines.

Entry to the rally will be free of charge and entrants will be admitted with their vehicle, one free passenger, in addition to the driver / rider, Entrants of a Black Country made vehicles will receive a commemorative item on the day.

Entrants are requested to arrive before 10am and not to leave until after 4pm. During the day entrants having road worthy vehicles with current certificates of insurance and MOT will be allowed to drive round the site at a speed not exceeding 12 m.p.h. The Village is out of bounds to motor vehicles. Entrants with non roadworthy vehicles may display their vehicle statically.

Entrants will be accepted on a first come serve basis, subject to scrutiny and eligibility. In the event of the rally being oversubscribed the organisers reserve the right to decline entries. Dogs are not admitted to the Museum. Clubs catering for Black Country made vehicles may mount displays.

There will be a few selected Autojumble Stalls at the event. Those wishing to partake please contact the Organiser

The Black Country Living Museum is an ideal venue for this event, entrants will be able to participate in all the facilities of the Museum. They include a replica Newcomen steam pumping engine, an underground Coal Mine, and a variety of Houses, built in the 1900’s, Shops, and Workplaces, are sited adjacent to the Canal Basin, entrance to the Dudley Canal Tunnel. Food is available at the Canal Side Cafe, with local ales being dispensed in the Bottle and Jug Inn. The Tram and Buses will provide transport around the Museum site. Drivers of the Vehicles participating on the day must refrain from drinking Alcohol.
