St. Leonard's church was holding its fete and asked the Club if we would
put on a display. There was a wedding at the church during the
afternoon, so it seemed a good idea to take weddings as our theme.
So Sandra Aston plundered her collection of old wedding photos and Reg
Aston found a lot of suitable old photos of Bilston and set up their
displays, which stayed there all of Saturday and Sunday.
Luckily the weather was fine - the excessive heat and closeness accompanied
by occasional storms, which we had all suffered from in previous days,
ameliorated.

By the time your reported managed to get there
things were in full swing. Outside the church were jumble
stalls and raffles ... |
| ... not to mention a master of ceremonies who not
only sang but also ... |

|
 |
... introduced a local line dancing team who gave a
great performance ... |
| ... which not everyone could be prevented from
joining in.
Are line dancers the new morris dancers?

And the stalls continued to do a roaring
trade. Your reporter somehow managed to acquire two packets
of soap and a model of a Dulux dog. But these things can't
be helped. |
