| You reporter has to admit that, in an unusual display
of disorganisation, he had to leave the meeting almost before it had
started. (And by the time he got back all the clearing up had
been done - so it was not all bad). But there are fewer photos
than usual and no photos of the main event. Surely someone
took some photos. If they did, please bring them along to a
meeting and lend them to him.
 |
Ready to start, with Ted Garbutt, Henry Metzger,
Alma Darby, Bill Pope and David Fitzgerald-Plummer - and
mainly a wonderful buffet laid on by Megan
Fitzgerald-Plummer. |
| All the tables were decorated, in this case by a
furry green thing, that looks harmless enough. |
 |
 |
And the hall was brightly decorated thanks to the
Holy Trinity Social Club. |
| There was a nice display of photos by Reg Aston ... |
 |
 |
... and some of his books of photos, which were much
pored over while members assembled and waited the signal
to tuck in. |
| There was also a splendid collection of raffles
prizes ... |
 |
 |
... and an equally splendid collection of Christmas
characters, including an elf and a fairy.
(Actually, they might well be Kath Kiely and Alma
Darby). They were joined later by Father Christmas
himself. |
| It is difficult to think of a suitable comment for
this character. Anyway, your reporter left at this
point. Nothing to do with being frightened of this
siren, you understand - he had another appointment
(which he made as quickly as possible). |
 |
Any road up, your reporter understands that there was a full
house, and the buffet was excellent. Then the children of
the Holy Trinity School Choir arrived and sang Christmas carols
and songs to the great pleasure of the assembled company.
Then the raffle took place. And then everyone went home
after a cheerful Christmas party.
